Question: There are a bunch of dead and dying coconut trees at Ahupua‘a ‘O Kahana State Park. This must be due to the coconut rhinoceros beetle. These trees have been there for a while. I first noticed them in July. What is the state going to do about these trees? Aren’t these trees a hazard? Isn’t it better to remove these trees and do whatever is necessary to mitigate the spread of the coconut rhinoceros beetle?
Kokua Line: Will state cut down infested trees at Oahu state park?
