Senator Wil Espero who represents the Ewa community has sent a letter to the Governor, University of Hawaii, and members of Congress.
He’s proposing options like federal funding or getting the UH medical school involved…in case the worse-case-scenario of closure is realized.
Espero says contingency plans need to be looked at.
HMC operates facilities in Ewa and Liliha.
It is looking for a new buyer, and is not speculating on what could happen if one is not found.
