Letter: AI is coming for some jobs, but not the trades

In Sunday’s newspaper, your lead article, “Higher learning,” about the rise of AI in schools, omitted trade jobs such as those filled by electricians. Journeyman electricians who are members of the local IBEW can earn more than $90,000 with full retirement benefits. Hawaiian Electric linemen can earn over $110,000. Other trades, like crane operators, are similar.
