Letter: Build affordable units in Waipahu, not Costco gas

Costco is proposing to build a business center and the largest gas station on Oahu at the former Don Quijote site in Waipahu. This community was built by immigrants who worked the sugar mill and cane fields — people who transformed a rural town into a thriving neighborhood that is still welcoming new families today. Waipahu deserves better.
