Letter: Coaches should keep religious beliefs private

Congratulations to coach Timmy Chang for his team’s impressive 8-4 regular season. But during his on-field interview after the Nov. 29 win over Wyoming, he once again thanked his “Lord and savior,” an oft-repeated phrase for the football coach. Our Constitution prohibits government establishment of religion. It’s wrong for tax-paid coach Chang to advocate his personal view in any official capacity. He does not represent the University of Hawaii’s religious views.
