Letter: Columnist aligns self against tenets of peace

The April 7 column by Cal Thomas, “Pope’s flawed war doctrine targets righteous U.S. action,” is simply beyond belief. In it, he belittles Pope Leo XIV for the pope’s call for an end to war and for peace on Earth, but justifies the mad, genocidal wars by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. Any attempt at trying to negotiate peace this writer equates with the fatal attempts to negotiate with the Nazis.
