Letter: COVID revealed Hawaii’s anti-business attitude

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, then-Mayor Kirk Caldwell closed all my bars. I talked with the Office of Economic Revitalization, but its recommendation was to borrow a million dollars. Laughable. My bars are closed, generating monthly debt and zero income, all while the mayor wouldn’t let them open. What bank would offer a loan under those circumstances?
