Letter: Critical electric hubs are also needed in Kaimuki

Congratulations to all my friends and relatives in Kaneohe, Kailua and Waimanalo who will be getting their own electric hubs to mitigate power loss during storms (“State to receive $18.5M for electric grid projects,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 28). Kaneohe friends told me they lost power during Tropical Storm Lala for almost 24 hours. Well, la-di-da. I live in Kaimuki and lost power for 39 hours after Lala, and more than 48 hours during the Kona-low storms.
