Letter: Democrats to blame for housing crisis

In 1970, Hawaii’s leaders and local newspapers first formally proclaimed a statewide “housing crisis” as mortgage rates hit 7.5% and vacancy rates dropped to near zero. Fifty-six years later, we still have a “housing crisis.”
