Letter: DLNR mismanages Lanai deer hunting season

I was about to enter into the Lanai hunting lottery when a Lanai resident told me that the deer count was dangerously low. Residents rely on subsistence hunting, so the hunters’ association asked the state to delay the next hunt. They were refused. Now, residents are planning to boycott by refusing incoming hunters’ vehicle and rental purchases.
