Letter: Elections office should publicize ballot rules

Like the letter to the editor from Linda Mclver-Lorne, I also think that mail-in ballots are an excellent way to encourage voter participation (“Mark ‘return to sender’ on nonresident ballots,” Star-Advertiser, July 21). I, too, have a family member living and voting on the mainland. Long before 2020, when mail-in voting became official, we had been receiving mail-in voter envelopes for my son and had no idea or instruction on what to do about that. I have to thank Linda for the idea of writing “return to sender, no longer at this address.” I hope that works.
