Letter: Endeavor to keep isles’ best and brightest home

It is great that more students are seeking continuing education, but at what cost and for what purpose (“Enrollment at UH hits 8-year high at 51,400 students,” Star-Advertiser, Oct. 5)? When I went to the University of Hawaii, tuition was $85 a semester. It is now $11,520! Although many of my peers went on to graduate or professional school, the majority found that there were decent white-collar jobs available in Hawaii that required bachelor degrees.
