Letter: Fireworks violators shouldn’t get permits

After the tragic fireworks incident that occurred in the Aliamanu community on Jan. 1, 2025, claiming four lives and injuring 20 people, plus another fireworks fatality in Kalihi, the Hawaii Legislature passed more stringent fireworks legislation. The law was promptly signed into law by Gov. Josh Green.
