It insults common sense and fiscal responsibility that some Hawaii state legislators are considering a fact-finding trip to other states and countries to gather ideas for transit development (“State leaders seek ideas on transit development,” Star-Advertiser, Sept. 14). With the island of Kauai in the throes of devastating hurricane recovery, these legislators need to be donning work clothes instead of suits and aloha shirts.
