Letter: Guns pose a danger to public with little upside

Business owners are trying to decide if they will allow customers with guns into their establishment. Well, I was in Las Vegas at the California Hotel in September 2020 and struck up conversation with some people about why a restaurant was closed. They said they heard a loud bang and saw a guy come out limping. There was a blood trail on the white tile leading from the restaurant, down the escalator, through the casino and into the parking lot elevator. Apparently, the guy’s gun went off and he shot himself in the leg. Luckily no innocent bystanders were injured.
