Letter: HMSA’s sudden switch requires more clarity

The people of Hawaii deserve to be informed about the significant changes in payment that the Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) has suddenly imposed on physicians and other allied health providers. A 60-day notice was issued for the transition from value-based payment to fee-for-service. As a private practice, our very survival is at serious risk.
