Letter: Hokule‘a documentary was honest, objective

Hokule‘a, now 50 years old and counting, has sailed back and forth to Tahiti several times since 1976, and around the world more than once, with multiple crews. Preparing for more than a year, and completing the first voyage to Tahiti was a “difficult birthright” captured by our PBS/National Geographic film team in a 1977 television special. I was producer/director of the project, from its inception in June 1975.
