Letter: Hold utility accountable for unintended damage

I recently saw the news that the Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) was going to Waianae to “rescue” residents from a large water main break. Citizens of Waianae and beyond, make sure you document with photos and video the land, sidewalks and property that BWS comes into contact with during the repair. If they damage the sidewalk in front of your home and don’t fix it, you can be fined.
