Letter: Housing affordability is key in STR ban debate

One has to be either wealthy or very poor to live in Hawaii. The poor receive public assistance, while middle- class and fixed-income residents tread water. Since COVID, jobs changed, prices escalated for everything, homelessness increased and residents left.
