Letter: ICE’s inevitable foray in Hawaii could be disastrous

ICE and Customs and Border Protection agents are targeting black, brown and Asian people, including off-duty police officers, in their out-of-control surge to deport thousands of immigrants every day. Unfortunately, their racist practices have the blessing of the U.S. Supreme Court, specifically Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who dismisses illegal arrests and detentions of U.S. citizens as a mere inconvenience, and permits race and spoken language as permissible bases for reasonable suspicion to arrest.
