Letter: Islamic kingdom among first of America’s allies

We as Americans have often been accused of being Islamophobic, defined as having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against Islam or Muslims. If one were to respond to such false accusations, one need only to ask, which country was the first to acknowledge America as an independent nation?
