Letter: Kupuna stranded after rent restrictions expire

The Hawaii Community Development Authority has transitioned control of the Honuakaha apartments, initially developed as a senior rental housing project, to property management company Paramount Properties. Unfortunately for a lot of the senior citizens who live there, the site’s low- income housing tax credit restrictions have been exhausted and the project is no longer required to comply with rent restrictions.
