Letter: Legislature must protect against authoritarianism

These are not ordinary times. To protect Hawaii and democracy from the tsunami of authoritarian overreach that is undermining our constitutional rights and well-being, I urge our elected officials — state senators, representatives and Gov. Josh Green — to immediately call for the special legislative session that was agreed to months ago.
