Letter: Let motorcyclists decide when to wear a helmet

In response to the letter urging mandatory helmet laws, the writer claims “statistical data clearly states” helmets save lives (“Adopt more stringent motorcycle safety laws,” Star-Advertiser, July 8) . I have been a rider for over 50 years and have been involved with Street Bikers United for over 30 years. For every statistic that you come up with, I can come up with another that says the opposite. That’s just the nature of studies.
