Letter: Let residents conduct sea erosion repairs

It does not seem fair. The city and state harden shorelines to protect Kamehameha Highway, install sea walls at the Maunalua Bay boat launch in Hawaii Kai, and replenish sand at Sandy Beach, Waikiki and Makaha (“Eroding conflict,” Star-Advertiser, May 24). All illegal for a homeowner unless you’re a past president.
