Letter: Military trained not to act on unlawful orders

One letter writer on July 29 wrongly assumes that military personnel, including Marines and the National Guard, would respond to illegal, unconstitutional or unlawful orders from superiors (“Following orders not an excuse for ICE actions,” Star-Advertiser, July 29). This includes orders from the president.
