My past letters to the editor concerning HMSA executives go way back to the end of COVID-19, when they received big pandemic pay raises. There were many letters concerning the raises negotiated by these executives. A recent letter noted that in 2024, HMSA President and CEO Dr. Mark Mugiishi received $3.5 million and Hawaii Pacific Health President and CEO Ray Vara received $4.4 million in compensation and incentives (“HMSA-HPH leaders must trim executive overhead,” Star-Advertiser, March 4).
