Letter: Native peoples suffer injustice in America

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, I am reminded of a Native American comedian who said, “When the white man came to America, he had the Bible and we had the land. Now we have the Bible and he has the land. ” This sounds so familiar. When the missionaries came to Hawaii, they had the Bible and the natives had the land. Now the outsiders have the land and the Native Hawaiians have the Bible.
