Letter: Navy must explain TPH in filtered water

At a recent town hall, the Navy announced it was given permission to reopen its Aiea/Halawa shaft. The Navy stated no total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) were found in the water. However, its own pilot study showed that TPH was indeed found, even after the water went through the granulated activated carbon (GAC) filters.
