In a recent column, George F. Will unintentionally reveals a major cause of our society’s problems (“U.S. is losing people, its most valuable resource,” Star-Advertiser, April 26). He is worried that the U.S. population is dwindling, and says that “people are resources.” Thinking of people as “resources” is an outlook that comes from greedy corporations, and serves only them. As mere “resources,” people get exploited and then discarded, just to create enormous profits for psychopathic oligarchs and misery for everyone else. There is no concern for people’s well-being. They are used just to perpetuate our immoral economic system that creates inequality and desperation for the non-oligarchs.
