Letter: Raise Hawaii speed limits, reduce speeding tickets

The speed limits in Hawaii need to be raised on all highways and freeways by 10 mph. While residential neighborhoods and school zones should remain 25 mph for safety reasons, I think there’s no reason why Hawaii should not join other states in having a 65 mph speed limit. This would prevent a lot of speeding tickets that have to be handled in the court system, while also not jeopardizing people’s safety — people already go that fast.
