Letter: Resistance best weapon in fight for democracy

In a free society you don’t expect to see: masked police; government by executive orders, not laws; “representatives” ignoring and hiding from their constituents, then voting contrary to their interests; a legislative branch yielding all its constitutional powers to the executive; food and medical care denied to millions in order to provide tax cuts for the richest few; government bribery; censoring of the press and universities; officials threatening judges and ignoring court orders; the president’s opponents and critics targeted for prosecution; federal troops occupying a city against its will; mass roundups and deportations without due process; for-profit detention camps.
