Letter: Sandalwood’s survival a reminder of community

Thank you for the story about caring for the last known surviving sandalwood on Niihau (“The last Niihau sandalwood,” Star-Advertiser, Dec. 7). Sandalwood elsewhere in Hawaii is called iliahi in the Hawaiian language.
