The U.S. Pacific Fleet Public Affairs Office recently announced that the 30th RIMPAC (the biennial Rim of the Pacific military exercise) will bring “31 nations in and around the Hawaiian Islands from June 24 to July 31, 2026.” Detailed plans of the military training for 2026 have yet to be released, but past training has included bombing and shelling, the sinking of ships and beach assaults on and around several islands, including live-fire training at Pohakuloa in the center of Hawaii island.
