Letter: Solutions exist for flood, sea-level risks

There are time-tested ways to address flooding and rising ocean level intrusion (“Sea-level rise risk erodes Hawaiian homestead plan,” Star-Advertiser, Oct. 21). These mostly involve building the residential level up one story on piers and posts, while providing parking, workshop and recreational space down below. If there is a significant tsunami, the whole parcel is affected anyway.
