Let me get this straight: Tommy Waters is seeking to ban use of city resources to distribute mailers 60 days before an election and claims “he has followed a 60-day blackout practice throughout his public service” (“Council mulls limits on taxpayer-funded election mailers,” Star-Advertiser, Oct. 5). Apparently that doesn’t include primary elections, such as his taxpayer-funded, four-page mailer in early June, which featured his photograph and advertised how he was “working for you.”
