Hawaii is rapidly approaching a critical point in its economic future. Crumbling roads, failing infrastructure, rising prices, decreasing tourism and unachievable home ownership all are prevalent here. Yet when any opportunities that would be beneficial in addressing these issues present themselves, the answer always seems to be “no.” Politicians, civic groups and Hawaiian Nationalists immediately put blockades in the way:
