Letter: Stop thanking God and start thanking players

Football coaches have frequently credited their wins to God in nationally televised postgame interviews. They say God chose their team and not their opponent. Will this same coach ever decry the lack of God’s intervention when their team loses? Is this false modesty or a heartfelt belief?
