Due to climate change, Hawaii’s environment has become similar to the mainland’s West Coast. When our dry season does arrive, like it did last year, it will continue for a long period with negligible rainfall from July to November. Then the rains come in deluges like we’ve been seeing this spring. With so much moisture just weeks before summer begins, the vegetation, especially invasive brush, weeds and forests all over the aina grow rapidly and immensely, like they’re on steroids. My yard in Central Oahu is evidence of this.
