Letter: The Statue of Liberty needs a mourning cloth

For more than 50 years, my wife has been borderline apolitical, except for when, recently, she became a strong critic of our president, Donald Trump. She suggested that our Statue of Liberty to be covered in a black mourning cloth until Trump is no longer in office. The reason why? Because of what the Statue of Liberty stands for and how Trump is in complete opposition to the words of its associated poem by Emma Lazarus.
