Letter: Too much support for the able-bodied

Remember Capt. John Smith’s dictum, borrowed from the Bible: “He who will not work, shall not eat”? We used to be taught that lesson in grade school some 70 years ago, but I fear it has been lost to subsequent generations as the progressive left took over the education system.
