Letter: Trump’s attack of Somali is disgrace

I was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Somalia and had the opportunity to experience the rich Somali culture. I had Somali work colleagues and friends as a guest in their country and back home in the United States. I am appalled to have President Donald Trump treat the Somali population in the U.S. with such disdain and disrespect. No people, however challenged by their own circumstances or internal national conflicts, should be called “garbage” and accused of being unproductive and prone to crime.
