Letter: Trump gives Labor Day a new and sad meaning

Since 1894, Labor Day has been celebrated as a federal holiday to honor and recognize the many contributions the labor movement made to America’s strength, prosperity and well-being. But Labor Day 2025 will be different, as many will be exercising their freedom of speech, rallying for union rights, job rights, social services and democracy.
