Letter: Ward park goes off-leash with no animals policy

Victoria Ward Park in Kakaako opened Feb. 18 with a blanket prohibition on dogs — a major departure from the existing makai portion of the park, where leashed dogs were permitted. For years, Howard Hughes marketed Ward Village as pet-friendly, repeatedly representing that all grounds welcomed pets without qualification. Many residents relied on those assurances when purchasing their homes.
