Letter: Waters sets example by rejecting salary raise

Tommy Waters is commended for rejecting his share in the 4.7% pay increase voted by the Honolulu Salary Commission. It is an intelligent move to recognize that we must change our thinking from always expecting growth, and especially true at this austere time when many people must worry about basic needs like shelter and food.
