Letter: Why due process is a protected right for all

A writer asks whether due process is required for immigrant deportations (“Is due process required for all deportations?” Star-Advertiser, Letters, July 28). The answer is, as I learned in law school decades ago, yes. While the nature and extent of the actual hearing may differ, the Constitution requires everyone, citizen or noncitizen, to be protected by the due process of law.
