Man fatally shot by HPD said ‘today was his day to die’

Honolulu Police Department officers were justified to use deadly force when they fatally shot a 49-year-old felon who told his probation officer outside of The Queen’s Medical Center that he wanted to die on Oct. 2, the city prosecutor’s office has determined.
