A man convicted of murdering a woman at a Kalihi housing project was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Corbit Ahn killed Iris Rodrigues-Kaikana in August 2009.
She was found face down and beaten in an alleyway.
During the sentencing, Rodrigues-Kaikana’s father, Steven, turned to Ahn and said, "You’re lucky we don’t have the death penalty."
Ahn’s mother, Cynthia, insists her son is innocent, claiming another person is responsible for the murder.
