No tsunami threat following earthquake in New Zealand

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says that there is no tsunami threat following a 7.3 magnitude earthquake in the Kermadec Islands region. The quake was recorded at 7:57 a.m. Based on all available data a destructive pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii. The Kermadec Islands are part of New Zealand.
