Off the news: A week to honor stalwart EMS sentinels

Emergency Medical Service workers truly are guardian angels in times of desperate need, so it’s well worth honoring them this National Emergency Medical Services Week. Two in particular were cited by the mayor this week: EMS paramedic Will Batalon and EMT Alexis De Costa for their heroism in the wee hours of March 20, working alongside two police officers to rescue a family of seven from a flooded home.
